DisruptED Cyber Day will provide grade 7, 8 and 9 students with hands-on, fun-filled learning workshops led by education and industry experts to guide participants though the day’s activities to encourage STEM and cyber learning. It’s designed for students with limited technology experience and starts with a cyber security workshop where students will learn how to beat the bad guys and become Cyber Titans followed by a mini tech camp where students will use tools to build web pages, databases and networks that can be shared with classmates.

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
ICTC (Information and Communications Technology Council) will provide students with a hands-on interactive
learning workshop in the form of a cyber defence competition where students will learn about the cyber security
threats we are facing and the skills needed to safeguard our privacy and protect the integrity of Canadian
companies and governments directly by learning in real-time the skills necessary to secure a network in a fun
and interactive way.
12:00 to 12:30 p.m. Lunch (included in program)
After lunch, there will be greetings from special guest Noah Aiken-Klar: The Director of Youth Social Impact at
RBC. Noah leads a team that brings our purpose to life through RBC Future Launch, making strategic
investments in charitable programs that help young people gain skills, grow their networks, and get practical
work experience and support for mental wellbeing.
12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Canada Learning Code, will be providing an afternoon workshop using a program called SCRATCH that is used
by youth to program their creatively designed interactive stories, games and animations.
